Former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Endorsed by Largest Progressive Veteran Organization in the US
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Today, former US Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, who defended democracy with his bare hands from insurrectionists on January 6th, is being endorsed by VoteVets PAC, the largest progressive group of Veterans in America, to be the next Member of Congress from Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District. Since its inception in 2006, VoteVets PAC, which is backed by over 1.5 million supporters, has helped veterans and national security experts win elected office at the Federal, state and local levels.

Dunn has garnered wide support from across Maryland and the country, with more than 5,000 individual donors just in Maryland averaging under $26.50 per donation. He has received the endorsement of End Citizens United and taken the ‘No Corporate PAC Money’ pledge. Demonstrating his growing support, Dunn has also been endorsed by former Maryland Democratic Party Chair, Susie Turnbull and Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, as well as numerous members of Congress, including Congressman Jim Clyburn (SC-06), Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10), Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32), Congressman Eric Swalwell (CA-14), Congressman Adam Schiff (CA-30), Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (MO-05), Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), and Congressman Bennie Thompson (MS-02).
Earlier this week, Dunn announced the results of a poll that showed him as the best-known, best-liked and the leading candidate in the crowded field to replace retiring Congressman John Sarbanes.
Last week, Dunn announced raising more than $3.75 million in the first quarter of 2024 from more than 100,000 donors.
