Climate change is an existential threat to our planet. To address that, Harry knows that we need to listen to scientists – not politicians. Not only is investing in clean technology and green energy the right thing to do for our climate, but it will also save money while creating good-paying union jobs for Americans across the country. We only have one planet. It’s on us to protect it. In Congress, Harry will do everything in his power to ensure that the earth is liveable for future generations, including:
- Protect the Inflation Reduction Act’s historic climate investments from GOP attacks and fully fund the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.
- Support Inflation Reduction Act goals that are on track to:
- Reduce US greenhouse gas emissions to 50% of 2005 levels by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
- Provide disadvantaged communities with 40% of the benefits from federal investments in climate and clean energy.
- Support the Clean Energy and Transmission Acceleration Act to improve and streamline the permitting process for new clean energy projects to ensure that Americans are not saddled with exorbitant energy bills and that we are accelerating the green energy transition.
