On January 6th, Harry protected our democracy with his bare hands from insurrectionists who sought to overturn the results of a free and fair election. Harry has personally seen the impact of Americans losing faith in their government and the devastating influence of misinformation. Harry also believes that democracy isn’t a spectator sport – and that it is on every single one of us to leave our democracy better than we found it. Harry has seen up-close that our democracy is just one election away from extinction and he has rejected corporate PAC dollars on his campaign. In Congress, Harry will:
- Pass the Freedom to Vote Act to expand voting access for all eligible voters, end partisan gerrymandering, protect poll workers as they administer free and fair elections, and fight the influence of big money.
- Support the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore longstanding voter protections and defend voting rights from Republican attacks.
- Overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling by constitutional amendment.
- Restore trust in Congress by banning Members of Congress from trading individual stocks and by prohibiting lawmakers from soliciting donations from companies they regulate.
- Champion Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico statehood and full representation in Congress.
- Support the Educating Against Misinformation and Disinformation Act to ensure that government regulation of misinformation keeps up with the ever-evolving threat.
